1. |
Surface preparation
Un-roll the veneer and lay sheets flat and cover with plywood
while sheets acclimatize to the ambient conditions of the job site.
This usually takes 48 hours. |
| |
|
|
2. |
Trim to Rough Size
Trim the veneer
sheet leaving it ½" oversized to allow for a final trim after the
sheet is positioned on the substrate. (Use of a sharp utility knife
or scissors is required). Loose fit the sheet with the
protective backing in place to ensure correct fit. |
| |
|
|
3. |
Remove backing
Remove the protective backing. |

|
|
4. |
Apply The Veneer
Check alignment
Make sure the veneer overhangs the surface being veneered on
a 4 sides. Do not use fingers to smooth the veneer. This will
result in bubbles. "J" rollers or veneer rollers are
NOT recommended. A fiber knife or
scraper tool
is recommended to apply pressure to the sheets. |
| |
 |
Start in the center of the veneer sheet and
work out towards the edge of the sheet.
Always work in the same direction as the grain
of the veneer, paying special attention to the edges.

|
|
| |
After the veneer has been applied, trim
the remaining overhanging veneer with a sharp razor knife or x-xcto
knife, then sand the veneer edge flush with the edge of the surface. |
| |
|
|
5. |
Finish The Veneer
Adhesive should be allowed to cure for 48 hours prior to finishing.
Apply your finish promptly after cure time to protect from
moisture penetration. Most stains and finishes can be applied over PSA veneers providing you have waited long enough for he
adhesive to cure properly. Best choices of finish would be a top
coat such as a varnish or polyurethane. |
