Do you have a Frigidaire gallery refrigerator? If so, there is a good chance that at one time or another, it has developed a problem with the temperature inside the refrigerator. This could be caused by a number of different things.
One of the most Frigidaire gallery refrigerator temperature common problems is that the ice maker has failed to produce enough ice. Another possibility is that the temperature control sensor in the door has failed to detect the correct temperature.
The following are some suggestions on how to fix this problem… if it has not been fixed already.
Remove The Back Panel
If the back panel of your frigidaire gallery refrigerator is loose, simply remove it and look at the temperature control board. You will see one or more small black wires coming from the temperature control board, and these are connected to the metal bracket that holds the back panel in place.
You need to disconnect those wires from the bracket and then gently push the back panel back into place. Be careful not to force the back panel too tight, or else it could easily become a fire hazard. However, if it is a little loose, it should be easy to get it back into place.
If you have a model year 2003 or newer frigidaire gallery refrigerator, you may have to remove the bottom cabinet in order to access the back panel. In that case, simply follow the same procedure described above, except when you are done, make sure the bottom cabinet is back in place.
Use A Magnifying Glass To Look At The Wires
Another thing you can try is to use a magnifying glass to look at the wires attached to the bracket that hold the back panel in place. If you do this, you will be able to see if there is any oxidation or corrosion on the wires. This will give you an idea of how old the wires are, and if they are starting to fail.
Replace The Wires If They Look Damaged Or Corroded
If the wires appear to be OK, but the temperature control still won’t work properly, it could be because the wires have been nicked or cut by something inside the refrigerator. In that case, it is time to replace those wires.
Purchase A New Temperature Control Sensor
A third possibility is that the temperature control sensor itself has failed. In that case, you will need to purchase a new one. There are a number of places where you can get such a part.
You will need to know the exact model and serial number of your frigidaire gallery refrigerator in order to purchase the right part.
If none of these suggestions solve your problem, it might be time to call a repair person.
