Resetting Your Kitchenaid Dishwasher Control Panel in Three Easy Steps
A Kitchenaid dishwasher is a great appliance to have in the home. It can make cleaning dishes so much easier and faster. However, sometimes the control panel on the dishwasher can malfunction or you may need to reset it for some reason. Fortunately, resetting the Kitchenaid dishwasher control panel is a relatively easy process.
The first step in resetting the control panel is to turn off the power to the dishwasher. To do this, simply unplug the appliance from the wall or flip the breaker switch in the electrical panel. Once the power is off, wait a few minutes before plugging the dishwasher back in. This will allow the control panel to reset itself.
Once the power has been restored, the next step is to press and hold the Start/Reset button for approximately three seconds. This will cause the control panel to reset itself and the LED lights will start to flash. After the LED lights have stopped flashing, the control panel is reset and the dishwasher is ready to be used.
If the control panel does not reset after pressing the Start/Reset button, the next step is to press and hold the Cancel/Drain button for approximately three seconds. This should cause the control panel to reset itself.
If the control panel still does not reset, it may be necessary to reset the dishwasher manually. To do this, locate the Manual Reset button on the control panel. Depending on the model of dishwasher, this button may be located behind the kickplate, inside the door panel, or at the back of the dishwasher.
Once the Manual Reset button has been located, press and hold it for approximately three seconds. This should cause the control panel to reset and the LED lights will start to flash. After the LED lights have stopped flashing, the control panel is reset and the dishwasher is ready to be used.
