2: Next, remove the two Phillips screws that are holding the plastic panel on the top of the water heater.

4: Now, look at the three tabs on the left side of the water heater. There is a small plastic hex nut on each one of them. Remove those nuts by turning them counterclockwise (CCW). This will release the corresponding metal tab. Do the same thing with the center plastic hex nut. Doing this will allow you to remove the entire metal support underneath the plastic panel. Now, remove the two Phillips screws that are holding the bottom of the metal support.

5: Next, remove the four Phillips screws that are holding the bottom of the water heater. Lift up the metal grid that is holding the four screws. You should now be able to lift the whole bottom section of the water heater off. Set this section aside for later.

6: Next, remove the four Phillips screws that are holding the bottom of the control panel. Lift up the control panel. Now, remove the two Phillips screws that are holding the top of the control panel. Lift up the control panel and set it aside as well.

7: Next, remove the two Phillips screws that are holding the top of the water heater. Remove the top section of the water heater and set it aside.

8: Now, remove the access panel from the bottom of the water heater. You will need to use a Phillips screwdriver to do this. Make sure you get all the Phillips screws and then remove the access panel.

9: Now, remove the three Phillips screws that are holding the bottom of the access panel. Lift up the access panel and set it aside.

10: At this point, your hot water heater should be completely disassembled. Go ahead and put everything back together. Replace the plastic cap on the top of the water heater. Replace the metal panel on the top of the water heater. Replace the plastic panel on the top of the control panel. Replace the metal support underneath the plastic panel. Re-attach the bottom of the water heater. Re-attach the bottom of the control panel. Re-attach the bottom of the access panel. And re-attach the bottom of the access panel.
