If you have been using a Kenmore Washing Machine for a while, chances are that the lid lock has become frustrating at some point.
And if you have spent a lot of money on a Kenmore Washing Machine, you may be concerned that the Kenmore Washing Machine is not functioning properly.
If this is the case, here are five easy ways to bypass the Kenmore Washing Machine lid lock.
Unscrew the Lid
While this may seem like the easiest option, unscrewing the lid will only allow you to open the lid. You won’t be able to close it after you unscrew it, and you won’t be able to use it to close your clothes in the washing machine. So it’s not really a very good option.
Use the Lever Handle
You can also use the lever handle to unlock the lid. Simply push the lever handle up, and the lid will open. You can then close the lid, and you won’t have to worry about locking it again.
However, this method will only work if the Kenmore Washing Machine has a manual wash cycle. If you use the automatic cycle, you won’t be able to access the lever handle.
Use a Knife
Another option is to cut the wires that connect the lever handle to the motor. Once the wires are cut, you can easily remove the lever handle. And since you don’t need it anymore, you can just discard it.
Once you remove the lever handle, you can use a hacksaw or other sharp object to cut the wires. And after you do that, the motor will no longer be connected to the lid, and you won’t be able to use the Kenmore Washing Machine again.
Use an Existing Key
The last option is to buy a key that is already attached to a Kenmore Washing Machine lid. This will make it easier for you to open the lid if you find yourself in need of it.
However, you won’t be able to use it to lock the lid again, and you won’t be able to close the lid when you are finished washing your clothes. So it’s not really an ideal option.
